Kids, Don't Try This At Home!

Hi, and welcome to the adventures of "Triton", a 45' Robertson & Caine Leopard catamaran we purchased in July of 2007, in Tortola, in the British Virgin Islands. We sailed her back to Emeryville, California, located in the lovely San Francisco East Bay area, worked a few more years, then set off cruising in the fall of 2014. This journal is the story of our ongoing adventure, the folks we've met along the way, and the hardships and joys of that journey. Please read along and let us know what you think!

Getting Ready For The Next Leg To Nicaragua

Well, I've just booked my flight back down to Golfito for the 7th. I'll be arriving at Land & Sea at least two days behind schedule, so I'm hoping there won't be a mess to deal with when I arrive. The boat shouldn't need a lot of work done, just moving some stuff back up into the outside lockers, but you never know.

In the meantime I'm trying to get stuff organized here, packing bags, moving boxes around, building a new bimini, etc. A million and one things. I'm not sure if I'll have enough time to do it all, but then again, I never do anyway. I'm hoping I'll be able to take some time and go into the jungle before I leave.

The crew so far is Roxanne and Jacob, Stuart and tentatively Ian, although we won't know until the last minute for sure. There are still a few others that are interested, we're waiting to hear what their plans are, but if anyone is thinking they might like to come along (read the previous blog entry for details), now is the time to say so. For such a short trip, four people is fine, but it is always nice to have more.

Looks like you guys are enjoying yourselves thoroughly. Hey, I don't see your email anywhere here, and rkane@rkane.com seems to be out of business. Drop me a line and let me know how I can contact you, k?
